Pennrose Announces Maria Rodriguez as Vice President & Legal Counsel

Experienced real estate attorney to oversee corporate legal strategy and compliance across national portfolio

Pennrose, a national leader in the development and management of high-quality mixed-income and mixed-use housing, has announced the appointment of Maria Rodriguez as vice president and legal counsel. Rodriguez will serve as the organization’s in-house corporate counsel, supporting the legal needs of Pennrose and its affiliates during a time of continued expansion and innovation.

In this role, Rodriguez will be responsible for advising executive leadership on legal issues related to real estate development, finance, and operations. Additional responsibilities include managing outside counsel, guiding internal legal processes, and supporting the organization’s strategic objectives through legal insight.

“Maria’s real estate expertise and track record of expert counsel on a range of complex legal and strategic issues make her an ideal addition to our executive team at an important time for our growing portfolio,” said Timothy Henkel, chief executive officer and principal.

Rodriguez joins Pennrose from Blank Rome LLP, where she served in the firm’s Real Estate Group representing a variety of clients in multifaceted real estate transactions including acquisitions, dispositions, financing, joint ventures, and commercial leasing. Her background also includes experience as a relationship manager at Lenovo, where she managed federal and international accounts.

Rodriguez holds a Juris Doctor from Temple University Beasley School of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania and is fluent in Spanish. Rodriguez also serves on the board of Asociación Puertorriqueños en Marcha (APM).
