Six Organizations Receive Funding to Support Community Development and Social Impact Initiatives
The Pennrose Foundation today announced the recipients of its first round of 2025 grants, awarding funding to six organizations working to strengthen communities and create positive social impact. The Foundation also announced that applications are now open for the second round of grants.
First Round Grant Recipients
Caring for Friends received funding to support its mission of providing nutritious meals and essential services to food-insecure individuals and families. The organization's innovative approach combines meal delivery with wraparound services that address the root causes of food insecurity.
First Step Staffing was awarded a grant to expand its workforce development programs that provide job training and placement services for individuals facing employment barriers. The organization focuses on creating pathways to sustainable employment and economic stability.
Local Initiatives Support Corporation (Massachusetts) received funding to advance its community development work, supporting affordable housing initiatives and small business development in underserved neighborhoods. LISC's comprehensive approach addresses multiple facets of community revitalization.
Ohio City Incorporated was granted funding to support its neighborhood development efforts in Cleveland's Ohio City district. The organization works to create inclusive, sustainable communities through strategic investments in housing, economic development, and community engagement.
Real World Leaders received a grant to expand its leadership development programs for young people from underrepresented communities. The organization provides mentorship, professional development, and career advancement opportunities to emerging leaders.
Wild Plum Center was awarded funding to support its holistic approach to community wellness and education. The center provides a range of services including mental health support, educational programming, and community building initiatives.
