Pennrose, The Cloud Company, and the Borough of Naugatuck are proud to introduce Platform at Naugatuck, a transformative project that will turn a long-vacant 7-acre site on Old Firehouse Road into a vibrant, mixed-income, mixed-use, and transit-oriented community.
Anticipated for completion in Fall 2026, Platform at Naugatuck will deliver a first phase of 60 thoughtfully designed apartments with ground-floor retail and a robust suite of on-site amenities. The community will offer one- and two-bedroom homes serving a wide range of households, with residences available at 30%, 50%, and 80% of Area Median Income (AMI), alongside market-rate options.
Each brand-new apartment will feature spacious floor plans, modern fully equipped kitchens, generous closet space, ceramic-tiled bathrooms, and individually controlled heating and cooling. Residents will also enjoy inviting indoor amenity spaces, including a community room and fitness center, designed to support comfort, wellness, and connection.
Platform at Naugatuck will also introduce approximately 3,000 square feet of ground-floor commercial space, envisioned to support local businesses, increase foot traffic, and contribute to a lively neighborhood streetscape.
Two additional phases are proposed to follow Phase I, completing the full vision for the community. When fully built out, the three-phase redevelopment will include 180 mixed-income apartments across three 60-unit buildings and more than 7,000 square feet of commercial space. Central to the vision is a new public green space, featuring a market plaza, central lawn, and gardens - designed to foster gathering, shared experiences, and a strong sense of community.
Platform at Naugatuck is a cornerstone of the Borough’s broader effort to revitalize downtown Naugatuck. In parallel, the Connecticut Department of Transportation is constructing a new, state-of-the-art train station at the heart of the Platform B site, replacing the existing Water Street station. Expected to open in Summer 2027, the new transit hub will provide seamless access to the expanded Metro-North line and strengthen connections throughout the region.
