A new affordable housing complex called Orchard Park has opened.
The 44-unit complex includes 18 duplexes, two triplex buildings and two single-family homes, along with a 5,000-square-foot community center.
The project was built on the grounds of the former Burns Heights public housing project in Duquesne.
Orchard Park was developed by Pennrose Properties LLC and the Allegheny County Housing Authority based on a design by Wallace Roberts & Todd.
The project, which took two years to build, includes homes that meet Energy Star guidelines.
