Regional Vice President, Southeast Region
Mark Straub serves as Regional Vice President and oversees all aspects of development in Pennrose’s southeast region. In this role, Mark directs the complex development activities for market-rate, affordable rental, and for-sale housing, including HOPE VI, Choice Neighborhoods, and mixed-finance developments. With more than 20 years’ experience in real estate development and project management, he is particularly skilled in urban revitalization, construction project management, engineering, and contract management.
Notably, Mark managed the McCallie Homes – HOPE VI (The Villages at Alton Park), a $78 million redevelopment effort which received the Chattanooga African American Chamber of Commerce – Advancement in Diversity Award and the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Regional Planning Agency – Excellence Award.
Mark joined Pennrose in 2005 as Senior Development Officer, Southeast Region. Prior to joining Pennrose, he served successively as Director of Development for the housing authorities in Cincinnati, Youngstown, and Chattanooga, where he managed a combined $150 million in construction and development production. He has participated in five HOPE VI redevelopment grants as well as a Choice Neighborhoods grant.
Mark holds certifications in Contract Management from the University of Virginia and from the National Contracts Management Association as a Certified Associate Contracting Manager (CACM). He is also a Certified Public Housing Manager.
