Benton Blackburn serves as Vice President of Operations. Since 1993, Mr. Blackburn has helf progressively responsible positions in the construction industry. Prior to joining Pennrose Service Company, Mr. Blackburn served as Project Manager of Denver based Shaw Construction where he was responsible for $100 million in construction projects per year. Mr. Blackburn chose to focus his efforts on the affordable multi-family construction market, becoming an expert in the administration, estimation and scheduling of HUD and tax credit financed projects. He initiated and led Shaw Construction's support of the Colorado Housing NOW! and Colorado NAHRO Conferences and sat on the CDC grant board of the Colorado Enterprise Foundation.

The experience Mr. Blackburn gained in Colorado stirred his appetite for more involvement in the affordable housing arena, hence his decision to join the Pennrose team.

At Pennrose Service Company, Mr. Blackburn takes a lead role in design review, owner's representative services, capital project management and building diagnostic services on projects ranging from $4 million to over $60 million in construction hard costs. His experience with Pennrose Service Company includes single family housing, townhome developments, historic rehabilitations, water management improvements to existing properties, urban infill housing and construction of student housing.

Mr. Blackburn holds a B.A. in English Literature from Dartmouth College and a Masters in Business Administration from the Daniels School of Business at the University of Denver.
